My heart throbbed a merciless, rhythmic beat as I accepted just how precious he was to me.

Nick tumbled hard for the waifish imp crying over a crushed pink donut. They were only little boys, but those big tears caused Nick's protective instincts to flare and he was forever captivated.

Though the future beckoned, Nick felt conflicted. He had fallen in love, and his aching desire for Cameron had grown deeper than he ever imagined possible. While Nick had always offered Cam his unwavering support, Cameron's downward spiral of self-doubt and battle for self-reliance nearly push Nick to the edge of letting go.

The thought of him with someone else, loving someone else, wrecked me.

Cam realized he was a little different. He was artistic, flamboyant, and adored sparkly, pretty things. Endlessly bullied for not being “masculine enough”, Cam strived to discover his place in the world. College was supposed to help, but things weren’t going as planned.

Cam gained strength in Nick’s friendship, his personal knight in shining armor. A lifetime of indecisions paired with a surprising hunger for the one man who’d always been his anchor, propels Cam to face reality. Change was happening, whether he was ready or not.

“I promise I won’t ever leave you again, Cam. We’ll never be apart.”

Two men battle their hearts amidst an uncertain future.

When he can no longer hide his feelings, will Nick break his sacred promise to never leave Cam’s side even though his heart and body desperately crave the only man he has ever loved?

Can Cameron find the strength to believe in himself enough to follow his own path, or will his stubbornness keep him from chasing his own dreams and risk losing the man who’s always stood by him?

Never Apart is a 140k M/M romance with an HEA between two childhood best friends who discover fate sometimes brings you together over a crushed pink donut.

This book contains sexually explicit scenes and is intended for adult readers only.

"I fell in love with Nick and Cam from the prologue, when Cam professed he "like-liked" boys. Extremely well-written, Never Apart is a peek into the lives of two best friends who've grown to love each other, as they've grown up together. At times deeply emotional, the light-hearted moments - usually involving food, and Winters' obvious obsession with Skittles - balance it out at just the right times. And did I mention the sexy times are HOT?!?! If you are expecting the typical jock and twink friends to lovers romance, this is so much more than that. From childhood, through the struggle to be accepted for who you are, to finding the way to a fated love, Never Apart will tug at your heartstrings - and probably make you crave pink-frosted doughnuts, noodles, and fruit-flavored candy. I highly recommend this book. Now go away so I can read it again.

A great friends to lovers story. Nick had always loved Cam from the moment he met him when they were seven and five, he just didn't realise it. Cam was the same. This story followed their lives through the trials of college, secrets, bad choices, bullying and assault. Through insecurities and fears. It took friends and family to finally get Cam and Nick to realise what was right in front of their faces, each other. I look forward to more in this series.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. When reading a new author, you never know what you are going to get but this was one of the good ones. I was hesitant since one of the main character is into sparkles & glitter, leggings/tights and mini skirts and it just isn't my favorite type of character to read about. Nothing wrong with it, just isn't what I would usually choose to read. But this story totally captivated me and made me fall in love with Nick & Cam. If you love reading this genre as much as I do, you will enjoy this one.
This book is a major investment in time. It's very long, but I can't think of a thing that could be left out. The main and secondary characters are very well developed. There are multiple plot issues happening which adds some complexity to the story. Honestly, by the time the writing was on the wall for Nicky and Cam (their HEA was a sure bet, just don't have Cameron bet!), I was getting very intrigued with some of the secondary characters and am hoping for them to be featured in future books - this does appear to be the start of a series.

The writing here is strong and character dialogue is realistic. It's also funny as heck at times. Just when I worried that the author was going to drag the reader on a long drawn-out saga of "I can't talk to you" angst, the characters actually DID talk to each other. So...there was some angst but just the right amount. I read this book with a stupid smile on my face some of the time and a tissue clutched in my hand at other times. I want the world to be a safe place for people like Cam who don't fit any pre-made mold. "Who climbed on their high horse and became the authority of what was normal, anyway?" ~Cam

Only a couple of issues with word usage in this book and they surprised me because the word choice in this book overall was vivid and strong. In one case, the characters are planning an event and then someone suggests 'land blasting' someone. The term is lambasting.

Another place a character talks about going to great 'links' to avoid someone. It's going to great lengths. There were a couple more like this that I noted, but I only mention these because they take the story down a bit for me. I do think this is a 4 1/2 star book and I will be watching for more from this author because I want to know what happens to Tatum. And Aaron. And David. And maybe even Blake.
Best friends to lovers? Yes, please!
The snarky guy, who loves being himself, makeup and all? Oh, hell yeah!
Sweet sexy scenes that give depth to the relationship? Most definitely!

Cameron was easy to love. His personality, his snark, his love to see people blush. He wrapped me around his manicured finger so easily. Watching his evolution was heartbreaking and fun and made me proud. Cameron was this dynamic characters that couldn’t see his own strengthens and was in denial about his wants for his future.

Nick had been in love with his best friend for years. He never spoke up, never told Cameron because he feared he would lose him. People are starting to see the signs and some things are changing between them. A building tension that they never had was suddenly there. Nick is such a sweet guy with a heart of gold. He had given up so much just to be with the guy he loved even if it wasn’t reciprocated.

This was a long story that held my attention because of the characters this author created. Each one was strong and clear and had their own unique voice and brought something important to the story. From Blake to Tatum and Ian to Kylie and Ren to David. Every single one moved the story forward whether that be with their bad attitude, bad guy ways, best friend status, or constant blushing. I loved their families, their sense of humor, even their annoying sibling interferences.

I’m glad I decided to pick up a copy of this book and cannot wait for Tatum’s book later this year. If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it.
I absolutely adored Nick and Cam. The friendship they shared was so deep and fulfilling that it was incredibly easy to see their connection grow into a true soul-deep love. Watching their journey and struggle to come together was a beautiful experience that I will repeat over and over again. I was also pulled into the story by Ashe Winters' secondary characters. I was drawn to each one and wondering about their story, so I'm excited to see that this is a series with the promise of more books to come! It's amazing and impressive that this is her first novel. Ashe winters' is now an automatic one-click for me!!
I am biased because I love MCs that are sassy and femme but this book was truly an excellent read! I loved how gentle are caring Nick was towards Cameron. An awesome plot and well developed secondary characters.
